Senate CIA Torture Report Executive Summary Released

| 9/11

The Senate Intelligence Committee releases a 525-page executive summary of its 6,700-page report on the CIA's Detention and Interrogation Program. The report finds the CIA's use of enhanced interrogation techniques (EIT) was more brutal than disclosed to Congress and the White House, that the program failed to produce unique intelligence, and that the CIA misrepresented its effectiveness to policymakers. The report describes techniques including waterboarding, sleep deprivation for up to 180 hours, rectal feeding, and confinement in small boxes.
