Houthis Claim Strikes on Yanbu Aramco Site; France to Guard Terminal, Saudi-Pakistan-Turkey Convene Under Mecca Defence Pact
On Thursday Sept 24, 2026 the Houthis said they struck Aramco facilities in Yanbu and a 'sensitive target' in Riyadh; Saudi forces intercepted six ballistic missiles and no casualties were reported. Foreign ministers of Saudi Arabia, Pakistan and Turkey met and arranged an urgent meeting of military chiefs under the Mecca Joint Defence Agreement, and France confirmed it is sending troops, radars and air defences to guard the Yanbu terminal, the Red Sea outlet of the 7M bpd East-West pipeline. Brent briefly topped $108 before closing Friday at $105.77.
