Saudi-Led Coalition Launches 54 Airstrikes on Houthi Positions in Yemen

The Saudi-led coalition's Joint Forces Command launched 54 airstrikes across Yemen's Lahj, Taiz, al-Jawf and Hajjah governorates on Sept 15, 2026, according to Houthi military spokesman Yahya Saree, in response to the preceding week's Houthi attacks on King Khalid Air Base and southern Saudi provinces. Houthi officials said the strikes killed three people and damaged a government complex in Taiz — claims Saudi Arabia has not publicly confirmed. Coalition spokesman Maj. Gen. Turki al-Maliki said the Joint Forces Command 'will deal with these attacks responsibly and firmly to protect the sovereignty of the kingdom.' The UN's OCHA said roughly 125,000 people (18,000 households) have been displaced across Yemen since the start of September amid the wider fighting.
