MBS Calls UAE President to Express Solidarity After Iranian Strikes, Coordinate Regional Security
Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman held a phone call with UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan on May 13 to discuss regional security, ongoing Iranian attacks on Gulf states, and Saudi-UAE coordination in response to the broader Iran war. MBS expressed full solidarity with the UAE following recent Iranian strikes on UAE territory and coordinated messaging that both countries would not be intimidated into abandoning their security arrangements. The call also addressed joint OPEC+ strategy and the shared economic damage from Hormuz disruption. Saudi Arabia and the UAE have maintained close security alignment throughout the Iran war, including joint air defense coordination.
