IS-Sahel Launches Motorcycle Attack on FAMa Patrol North of Ménaka

Islamic State – Wilayat Sahel (IS-Sahel) fighters mounted on motorcycles attacked a Malian Armed Forces (FAMa) patrol in the Inkadevan area, north of Ménaka in eastern Mali. Militants engaged the patrol with fire before withdrawing. FAMa helicopters subsequently conducted airstrikes against the retreating attackers in the Tinfadimat area. Exact casualties from either engagement were not confirmed in open-source reporting. The attack followed FAMa's large airstrike on an IS-Sahel base in the same region on March 26, suggesting continued high operational tempo by both sides in the Ménaka theater.
