Guinea Detains 11 JNIM Suspects in Eastern Border Operation

Guinean armed forces arrested 11 individuals suspected of links to JNIM cells during a counter-terrorism operation in the east of the country, in border areas adjacent to Mali. The operation was launched in response to a series of JNIM militant attacks on the Malian-Guinean border that had prompted Conakry to deploy additional military units to reinforce border security. Authorities described these as the first active measures against JNIM since the group's presence in Guinea was first recorded in 2024.
