Drone strike sets fire to Novorossiysk fuel oil terminal, Russia's key Black Sea export hub

Ukrainian drones struck Russia's Novorossiysk seaport overnight on Sept 8-9, hitting the port's fuel oil terminal — a facility handling roughly 4 million tonnes a year of fuel oil and light petroleum products — and damaging at least one storage tank, OSINT monitor ASTRA reported. Novorossiysk is Russia's largest Black Sea port and a key outlet for Russian oil-product exports, as well as the terminus of the CPC pipeline that carries over 80% of Kazakhstan's crude exports. Novorossiysk Mayor Andrey Kravchenko confirmed a fire broke out, attributing it to falling drone debris, and said no one was injured though debris also damaged a nearby residential building. The strike is the latest in a summer-long campaign against Russian export and refining infrastructure, landing on a facility central to Moscow's oil-product export flows even as domestic gasoline supply remains tight.
