Ryazan refinery struck again — Isomal-2 isomerization unit knocked out

Ukrainian FP-1 drones struck Russia's Ryazan oil refinery (Rosneft) overnight, hitting the Izomalk-2-LIN-800 low-temperature isomerization unit that converts low-octane straight-run fractions into the high-octane blending component needed for Euro-5 gasoline. The strike is the latest in a pattern of repeated attacks on the refinery — struck at least 9 times since August 2025 — and lands on a plant already crippled: two of its four primary crude distillation units (ELOU-AVT-6 and AVT-3, together over 77% of primary processing capacity) were already offline from earlier strikes, with August satellite imagery showing roughly half the plant's primary distillation capacity out of action. Ryazan accounts for about 5% of Russia's national refining capacity. Regional governor Pavel Malkov said there were no casualties and that emergency services were working at the site. The same night, drones also struck an airfield, a radar station and two Pantsir-S1 air defense systems in Rostov region, damaging a residential building in Rostov-on-Don.
