Ukrainian drones strike Astrakhan gas processing plant, 800km from the front

Ukraine's Defense Forces struck Gazprom's Astrakhan Gas Processing Plant overnight, hitting two gas separation units (1.U-272 and 2.U-272) at a facility roughly 800km from the front line — among the deepest strikes of the campaign. Ukraine's General Staff confirmed the attack; satellite imagery published by the Telegram channel 'Absolutely Reliable Source' showed burn marks on protective structures and fire trucks responding at the site. The plant processes up to 12 billion cubic meters of gas annually and produces gasoline, diesel, fuel oil and technical sulfur alongside natural gas and condensate — output Ukraine says supplies Russia's armed forces. The extent of damage and any output impact was not yet known.
