Gilda Lozoya, Sister of Ex-Pemex CEO Emilio Lozoya, Detained in Agronitrogenados Case
Gilda Susana Lozoya Austin, sister of former Pemex CEO Emilio Lozoya Austin, was detained by FGR agents near Mexico City International Airport on July 2, 2026, on a 2020 arrest warrant executed six years later. Prosecutors accuse her of acting as a 'prestanombres' (front person) for Tochos Holding Limited, a Swiss bank account through which Emilio Lozoya allegedly channeled illicitly-sourced funds. The FGR alleges that between June 12 and November 28, 2012, Gilda received five bank transfers totaling millions of dollars from Alonso Ancira Elizondo — owner of Altos Hornos de México (AHMSA), the company at the center of the Agronitrogenados fertilizer-plant overpricing scheme — and that part of those resources financed real-estate purchases now subject to extinction-of-domain proceedings. Her detention revived public attention on the Odebrecht/Agronitrogenados cases just weeks after the FGR seized Emilio Lozoya's own Lomas de Bezares mansion.
