FGR Seizes Lozoya's 51M Peso Lomas de Bezares Mansion via Extinction of Domain
A federal appellate court confirmed the FGR's extinction-of-domain action over former Pemex CEO Emilio Lozoya Austin's Lomas de Bezares residence in Mexico City, valued at over 51 million pesos (≈ $2.5M USD). The court ruled the property was acquired with illicit funds linked to the overpriced purchase of the Agronitrogenados fertilizer plant during Lozoya's Pemex tenure (2012–2016). After nearly five years of litigation, the mansion passed to state patrimony — the most tangible asset recovery in Odebrecht-related proceedings and a signal that asset forfeiture may advance where criminal conviction has stalled.
