The 45-day ceasefire extension agreed during Round 3 Washington talks (May 15-16) remains in force with the next critical deadline approximately June 29. However, UNIFIL has logged over 10,000 violations since the ceasefire began April 16, and 657+ people have been killed in the period — an extraordinary casualty figure under a nominal ceasefire framework. Israeli airstrikes near Tyre and Nabatieh (May 18-19) wounded dozens and damaged the Hiram Hospital and a primary health center, prompting UN international humanitarian law warnings.
