National Assembly Passes Rs18.77 Trillion Finance Bill for FY2026-27

| Pakistan

Pakistan's National Assembly passed the Finance Bill 2026-27 after days of budget debate, formally approving the Rs18.77 trillion ($67.5 billion) federal budget effective July 1. The bill locks in Islamabad's IMF-backed fiscal targets, including a roughly 14% revenue-growth mandate (Rs15.27 trillion FBR collection target) and a primary surplus of 1.6% of GDP. President Asif Ali Zardari signed the bill into law on June 25, formally enacting the budget for the new fiscal year.
