Jamaat-ul-Ahrar Attack on Karachi Rangers Camp Kills 3 Troops

Jamaat-ul-Ahrar, a TTP splinter faction that Pakistan's military designates an 'Indian proxy,' detonated an explosive at the gate of a Sindh Rangers camp in Karachi's Gulistan-i-Jauhar neighborhood before opening fire on troops. Three Rangers personnel were killed and four wounded; four attackers were killed in the ensuing gunbattle, including a suspected suicide bomber whose body was recovered on site. DG ISPR said the assailants attempted to breach the camp's perimeter security but were repelled, with aerial drone surveillance supporting the clearance operation. Pakistan's military vowed 'retribution operations' within hours of the attack, which materialized two days later as cross-border strikes into Afghanistan.
