IDF, Shin Bet Announce Killing of Sinwar's Former Bodyguard and Second Nukhba Terrorist Who Infiltrated Re'im on Oct. 7

The IDF and Shin Bet announced Thursday, August 27, 2026 that they had killed Razek Sahil Suleiman Abu Shahma, a Hamas Nukhba Force terrorist who served as a bodyguard to slain Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar and infiltrated the Re'im military base during the October 7, 2023 attack, along with a second Nukhba terrorist, Hazem Mousa, who also infiltrated Re'im that day. Both men were struck in the Khan Yunis area of southern Gaza earlier in the week. The military said both had continued advancing terror attacks against IDF troops and Israeli civilians and were working to rebuild Hamas's military capabilities in systematic violation of the ceasefire, and that precise munitions and aerial surveillance were used prior to the strike to mitigate harm to civilians. The killings are the latest in the IDF-Shin Bet 'Nili' campaign, which has now killed roughly 2,800 people on its target list of October 7 participants, according to officials cited in recent reporting on the campaign.
