North Korea Deploys Ballistic Missile Unit With 120 KN-23/24 Missiles to Russia's Voronezh Region

Ukrainian military intelligence told Reuters and Kyiv Independent that Russia has begun deploying a North Korean ballistic missile unit — six launchers and up to 120 KN-23/KN-24 short- and medium-range ballistic missiles — to Russia's Voronezh Oblast, bordering Ukraine's Luhansk Oblast. Around 90 DPRK personnel are expected to staff the unit, which is expected to be folded into Russia's 112th Missile Brigade. Russian forces had already received an initial batch of 40 missiles at the time of reporting. The final size and structure of the deployment is expected to be settled at high-level Moscow-Pyongyang talks. Ukrainian officials say a North Korean-operated missile unit would mark direct DPRK operational involvement in strikes on Ukraine, rather than transferred hardware alone.
