Kim Jong-un Supervises Tests of New Ballistic Missile Warhead, Rocket Launcher and Howitzer

| North Korea

Kim Jong-un oversaw tests of a 'special mission' ballistic missile warhead designed to inflict 'fatal damage on major targets including airfields, ports and power facilities,' an upgraded 240mm 24-tube multiple rocket launcher with extended firing range, and a 155mm self-propelled howitzer. Kim demanded the military adopt a 'deadly and destructive offensive posture' so adversaries 'feel constant uneasiness and fear,' and cited progress in firing capability along the southern border. South Korea's Ministry of National Defense confirmed it tracked the launch in real time alongside the United States. Analysts said the upgrades aim to give North Korea the ability to strike targets across all of South Korea.
