Junta Airstrikes and Artillery Kill Four Civilians Across Rakhine State

Myanmar military airstrikes and artillery fire killed four civilians, including three women, across separate Rakhine State townships on September 20, 2026. In Ponnagyun Township, a junta jet fighter dropped two 500-pound bombs on Kala Chaung village in the evening, killing 55-year-old U Saw Thein. In Rathedaung Township's Zee Kaing village, an elderly woman and her 42-year-old daughter were killed by junta artillery fire. In Pauktaw Township, a woman was killed in an airstrike on Taung Phu village; some reports place this strike on September 21.
