Arakan Army Ambush Annihilates Junta Column Near Point 948 Hill, Mindon Township

The Arakan Army ambushed and destroyed an entire Myanmar military column near Point 948 Hill, close to Kan Kyo village, in Mindon Township along the Rakhine-Magway border, in intense clashes on September 20-21, 2026. A military source said the junta column was completely annihilated; more than 30 junta soldiers were reported dead. The AA released a statement and photographs on September 22 documenting over 30 seized weapons along with ammunition and military gear recovered from the battlefield.
