Detained former State Counsellor Aung San Suu Kyi (81) met ICRC Myanmar head of delegation Arnaude de Baecque at 9:30am on August 3, 2026 in Naypyidaw, in what is believed to be her first known meeting with a foreign official in years, following mounting international concern about her health and welfare. The visit followed standard ICRC detainee-visit protocol, with findings shared confidentially with authorities only; the regime released four photographs of the meeting.
