PDF Kills 2 Pyu Saw Htee, Injures 6 in Okpho (Bago); Separate Resistance Checkpoint Attack in Letpadan

| Myanmar

Resistance forces conducted two separate operations in Bago Region on May 12, 2026, according to the MoeMaKa CDM Domestic News dispatch. In the first operation, PDF forces attacked junta-aligned Pyu Saw Htee militia posts in Okpho Township, Bago Region, killing two Pyu Saw Htee members and injuring six others while seizing positions. The Pyu Saw Htee are pro-military militia groups organized and armed by the SAC to supplement frontline forces and enforce junta authority in contested townships. PDF targeting of Pyu Saw Htee in Bago Region reflects the resistance's sustained campaign against the junta's auxiliary force network throughout central Myanmar. In the second operation, resistance forces attacked a junta checkpoint in Letpadan Township, Bago Region. Letpadan — which saw protests savagely suppressed in early 2021 — has become an increasingly active PDF zone as resistance forces extend operations into Lower Myanmar from Bago Region's northern townships. The dual Bago Region operations on May 12 follow the Arakan Army's major attack on the No. 16 Defence Equipment Factory perimeter in Pantaung Township (May 10, 20+ SAC killed) and the Mawtaung border town fighting (May 10), demonstrating multi-township resistance activity across Bago Region. Bago Region is strategically significant as it sits between Yangon, Naypyidaw, and Karen State, and is one of the junta's key logistics corridors — making PDF attacks there highly disruptive to SAC supply lines.
