PDF District Battalion Ambushes SAC Convoy on Myingyan–Nyaung-U Road — ~25 Junta Troops Killed, Drone Carrier Vehicle Destroyed

| Myanmar

People's Defence Force units — primarily District Battalion 4-10 and allied resistance forces — ambushed a Myanmar military junta convoy on the Myingyan–Nyaung-U road in Mandalay Region on April 27-28, 2026, killing approximately 25 SAC personnel and destroying three military vehicles, including a drone carrier. A separate simultaneous resistance attack in Thabeikkyin Township (Sagaing Region) killed one SAC soldier and resulted in seizure of a body plus ammunition. The Myingyan–Nyaung-U road is a key supply and reinforcement corridor in Myanmar's central dry zone, connecting Mandalay Region to the Magway border where PDF operations have been progressively isolating junta garrisons. The destruction of a drone carrier is strategically significant: armed drones are among the most valuable tactical assets for regional junta commanders, enabling surveillance and strikes at ranges and in terrain where ground forces cannot operate; their loss directly degrades SAC counter-insurgency capability in the central corridor. The ambush is consistent with the sustained PDF guerrilla campaign in central Myanmar that has, by ACLED estimates, reduced SAC township control to fewer than 100 of 330+ — with the Mandalay-Magway-Sagaing central zone increasingly contested. MoeMaKa CDM News documented both the Myingyan ambush and the Thabeikkyin action in its April 29-30, 2026 reports as part of ongoing resistance operations across the central region.
