SAC Jets Conduct 8 Airstrikes on Taze Township, Sagaing — Motorcycle Shop Destroyed, 5 Vehicles Burned

| Myanmar

On April 21, 2026, Myanmar Air Force jets based at Tada-U and Meiktila air bases conducted a series of 8 airstrikes with 3 fighter aircraft on villages in Taze Township, Sagaing Region. The first airstrike — at 12:15 local time — targeted Kantuu Ma village using a Tada-U Air Base fighter jet. Multiple subsequent strikes were carried out by a Meiktila Air Base fighter jet against Inyay Oe village. The attacks caused property damage: a motorcycle shop was destroyed and five vehicles were set ablaze. At least one civilian was injured. No active resistance military presence was reported in the targeted villages, consistent with the SAC's pattern of punitive strikes on civilian areas in Sagaing to degrade economic and civilian infrastructure supporting the resistance. Taze Township lies in the northern reaches of Sagaing Region — one of Myanmar's most heavily bombed areas since the 2021 coup — where PDF guerrilla operations against SAC supply lines and garrisons have continued. The Thingyan holiday period (April 13–17) saw the SAC maintain its full aerial campaign across Sagaing, and the strikes on April 21 confirm the junta's aerial campaign continued without pause even in the post-New Year days. The strikes were documented by the Township People's Defense Team of Taze, Sagaing Region.
