Bilin Township (Mon State) Under Sustained Airstrikes — ~40 Bombs Dropped on Villages Since April 7
Sustained SAC airstrikes on Bilin Township in Mon State continued through April 11, with approximately 40 bombs dropped since April 7 across the Lay Kay, Win Ta Pan, and Myit Kyo village tracts — a series of strikes timed around the Tagu Full Moon Festival period. The junta destroyed telecommunications towers in the area, severing phone and internet connectivity and cutting residents off from the outside world. The airstrikes provided air support for SAC forces attempting to relieve the Laykay strategic base and Wintarpan military camp, both of which were under fierce assault by resistance forces. Bilin Township has been a contested area since early in the conflict, with resistance operations repeatedly targeting SAC positions near the Karen State border. The combined use of overwhelming aerial bombardment against villages and communications infrastructure while simultaneously attempting to resupply besieged garrisons reflects the SAC's increasingly air-dependent counter-insurgency strategy.
