First PNR Presidential Election — Ortiz Rubio vs. Vasconcelos

Pascual Ortiz Rubio (PNR) was declared the winner over José Vasconcelos with 93% of the vote amid widespread fraud allegations. Vasconcelos led a genuine popular movement but fraud was systematic. This election established the template of PRI-managed electoral outcomes that would persist for 70 years. Vasconcelos refused to accept the results and went into exile.
