National Revolutionary Party (PNR) Founded

Plutarco Elías Calles founded the Partido Nacional Revolucionario in Querétaro as a mechanism to institutionalize the Mexican Revolution and end caudillo-based succession conflicts. The party brought regional military chiefs and revolutionary factions under a single organizational umbrella. This ended the era of military strongmen (caudillos) and began the era of institutionalized one-party rule.
