Black Boxes Recovered and Handed to Malaysian Authorities

Separatist forces hand over the Flight Data Recorder (FDR) and Cockpit Voice Recorder (CVR) — the 'black boxes' — to Malaysian aviation officials after international pressure. The black boxes, recovered from the crash site, show no evidence of tampering. They are analyzed in the United Kingdom by the Air Accidents Investigation Branch and later in the Netherlands.
