MH17 breaks apart within seconds of the missile detonation at 32,998 feet above sea level. The cockpit section separates first, followed by the forward fuselage. Wreckage and 298 victims scatter across approximately 50 square kilometers of farmland in eastern Ukraine near the village of Hrabove, Donetsk Oblast.
