MH17 Enters Eastern Ukrainian Airspace at FL330

MH17 enters the conflict zone over eastern Ukraine at cruising altitude of 33,000 feet (FL330). Ukrainian airspace below FL320 had been closed to civilian traffic due to the ongoing armed conflict, but MH17's altitude was above that restriction. The JIT later found that the risk assessment for flights above FL320 was inadequate.
