Army-CJNG Clash in Jilotlán de los Dolores, Jalisco Leaves 4 Suspected Gunmen and a Soldier Dead

On September 13, 2026, Mexican Army Special Forces, National Guard, the FGR, and three Mexican Air Force helicopters raided two suspected CJNG narco-camps in the municipality of Jilotlán de los Dolores, southern Jalisco. Personnel came under gunfire while clearing the camps; in the exchange, four suspected gunmen were killed. Two soldiers were wounded and evacuated by helicopter to the Military Hospital in Apatzingán, Michoacán, where one later died, bringing the operation's total death toll to five. In a related same-day operation in Santa María del Oro, authorities separately dismantled a clandestine methamphetamine lab, seizing industrial reactors and condensers, over 1,600 liters of precursor chemicals, 1,140 kg of ammonia powder, and 150 kg of calcium chloride.
