Edomex Prosecutors Arrest Alleged 'Los Vallarta' Financial Operator, CJNG-Linked Cell, Over La Paz Bar Killing

The State of Mexico Attorney General's Office (FGJEM) executed an arrest warrant against José Eduardo 'N,' identified as a probable financial operator of 'Los Vallarta,' a criminal cell prosecutors describe as linked to CJNG operating in municipalities in the eastern State of Mexico. He is accused of participating in the August 1, 2026 killing of a man at the 'La Malquerida D'Oro' bar in La Paz municipality — five suspects arrived by motorcycle and car, and one entered the bar and shot the victim before the group fled. The FGJEM attributes homicides, drug sales and distribution, extortion, and kidnappings in eastern Edomex municipalities to 'Los Vallarta.' The detainee was transferred to a state penitentiary in eastern Mexico State; he faces a potential sentence of up to 70 years if convicted.
