Alleged CJNG Collaborator 'El Neto' Arrested in Tijuana, Linked to Killing of Baja California State Police Officer

On September 13, 2026, agents of Baja California's Fuerza Estatal de Seguridad Ciudadana (FESC) captured José Ernesto 'N,' 32, alias 'El Neto' or 'El Gordo,' in the Pedregal de Santa Julia neighborhood of Tijuana during a routine patrol. When the suspect noticed the patrol on Pintores Street he attempted to flee, discarding a Taurus 9mm pistol loaded with 11 cartridges before being apprehended. Authorities identified him as an alleged CJNG collaborator and a priority target linked to the homicide of an officer of Baja California's Secretaría de Seguridad Ciudadana, as well as suspected arms trafficking. He was transferred to the Fiscalía General de la República (FGR), which will determine his legal status.
