Authorities Find CJNG Clandestine 'Hospital' in Tecalitlán, Jalisco — 8 Rescued, 6 Detained

On September 10, 2026, a joint operation by the Jalisco Prosecutor's Office (Fiscalía del Estado), the National Guard, and SEDENA raided a property in Tecalitlán, southern Jalisco, that investigators say CJNG used as a clandestine recovery clinic for wounded members. The property was located after investigators traced the July 21 disappearance of a 20-year-old man from Tlaquepaque to Tecalitlán. Eight men, ages 16 to 43 and from Mexico City, Guerrero, Michoacán, Sinaloa, and Jalisco, were found held against their will at the site — some had undergone surgery and two were using crutches. Authorities detained five men and one woman, ages 21-48 and from Jalisco, Colima, Nayarit, and Michoacán, on charges of human trafficking and forced disappearance. Seized items included medications, orthopedic boots and crutches, marijuana, tactical clothing, and roughly a hundred rounds of high-caliber ammunition. On September 11, federal Security Secretary Omar García Harfuch confirmed federal authorities (FGR) were investigating the site alongside Jalisco state authorities, describing it as a facility CJNG used to treat members 'heridos de la propia delincuencia organizada' (wounded in the group's own criminal activity). The Jalisco Prosecutor's Office noted similarities to the 2025 Rancho Izaguirre case; the investigation continues into possible involvement of local medical personnel.
