Next Round of Lebanon-Israel Rome Talks Set for Second Half of September

An informed source said Lebanon and Israel will hold their next round of US-brokered negotiations in Rome during the second half of September, with Lebanon hoping to resume work on the 'pilot zones' for Israeli withdrawal and Lebanese army deployment. US Ambassador Michel Issa had previously described the talks as technical in nature, continuing without a fixed timeline. Two prior rounds were hosted at the US Embassy in Rome, in July and August 2026, following the framework agreement signed in Washington in late June.
