Israeli Strikes and Shelling Hit Six More South Lebanon Towns
Strikes and shelling targeted the southern border towns of al-Mansouri, Aitaroun, and Bani Hayyan, while Israeli troops opened heavy machine-gun fire toward Hadatha and al-Khiam. An overnight strike hit Wadi al-Hujeir, and Beit Yahoun and Hadatha were shelled the previous night. According to Israel's Channel 12, cited by Naharnet, the Israeli military is preparing for a possible return to 'several days of combat' in Lebanon and intends to keep control of tunnel infrastructure beneath the Ali al-Taher ridge. The strikes came two days after the deadliest single day in south Lebanon since the June ceasefire, when 11 people were killed in Ansar and Deir al-Zahrani.
