Israel Orders Mass Evacuation of Entire Nabatieh (200,000 Pop.) and Tyre; 31+ Killed in Strikes

| Lebanon

Israeli forces issued a mandatory evacuation order for the entire city of Nabatieh — a city of approximately 200,000 people in south Lebanon — for the second consecutive day on May 27, as well as for swathes of the coastal city of Tyre. Residents were ordered to move north of the Zahrani River, approximately 40 km from the Israeli border. At least 31 people were killed in Israeli attacks across southern Lebanon on May 27. The IDF reported striking more than 150 Hezbollah targets in the prior 24 hours, including 15 infrastructure sites in Tyre used to launch attacks, 10 rocket launch sites, and a training camp in the Bekaa Valley. Ground fighting continued around Zawtar al-Sharqiyah and between Zawtar Sharqieh and Yohmor al-Shaqif north of the Litani River. Israeli Sergeant Rotem Yanai, 20, a welfare NCO in the Givati Brigade, was killed when two Hezbollah explosive drones struck the Shomera area on the Israeli side of the border; two reservists were also wounded.
