Hezbollah Claims 131 Attacks Against Israeli Forces in One Week — Explosive UAVs Primary Weapon
According to the AMIT Terrorism and Intelligence Research Institute, Hezbollah claimed responsibility for 131 separate attacks on Israeli forces in south Lebanon in the seven-day period from noon May 11 to noon May 18. The attacks relied primarily on explosive unmanned aerial vehicles — including the fiber-optic FPV drones highlighted earlier in the week — alongside conventional explosive devices, anti-tank missiles, and mortar fire. The volume of claims illustrated Hezbollah's continued operational tempo despite the 45-day ceasefire extension announced on May 15. The IDF faced the challenge of simultaneously maintaining ground positions in south Lebanon, conducting airstrikes on Hezbollah infrastructure, and engaging a constant stream of drone attacks from an enemy that had adapted its communications to evade Israeli electronic warfare.
