11-Year-Old Boy Among Four Palestinians Killed in Israeli Fire Across Gaza, Including in 'Safe Zone' of Al-Mawasi

Israeli forces killed at least four Palestinians across the Gaza Strip on Monday, September 21, 2026, despite the nominal October 2025 ceasefire. In the al-Mawasi 'safe zone' in southern Gaza, 11-year-old Ismail al-Bardawil was shot in the chest and later died of his wounds; Al Jazeera correspondent Tareq Abu Azzoum said the boy 'sustained critical injuries, and later, his injuries proved fatal.' In Jabalia, northern Gaza, a man identified as Mohsen Ahmed Bahjat was shot in the head by an Israeli drone. In the Bureij refugee camp, central Gaza, 31-year-old Fidaa Toutah was shot in the head by Israeli tank fire while returning home after dropping her children at school; Abu Azzoum said 'she was preparing her kids for school and went to deliver them to school. On her way back, she was shot by Israeli forces.' A separate drone strike killed one more Palestinian man in Khan Younis city center. Gaza's Health Ministry said Israeli forces had violated the ceasefire for the 346th consecutive day, putting the toll since the ceasefire took effect on October 11, 2025 at 1,394 killed and 4,839 wounded (831 bodies recovered from rubble), and the cumulative toll since October 7, 2023 at 73,914+ killed and 174,935+ wounded. IMEMC separately tallied 21 wounded across Gaza in the same 24-hour period, including incidents in Az-Zahra, Rafah and Deir al-Balah. The IDF did not immediately comment on the individual strikes.
