Settlers Beat and Pepper-Spray Palestinians Near Burqa, Raid Al-Mughayyir and Sinjil in Weekend Wave of Attacks

| Israel-Palestine

In a wave of settler attacks across the northern and central West Bank on the night of Saturday, August 15 into Sunday, August 16, 2026, Israeli settlers from a pastoral outpost assaulted three Palestinians in the al-Masoudiya area on the outskirts of Burqa, northwest of Nablus — beating them, spraying them with pepper spray, and damaging their vehicle, according to Diab Hajji, head of the al-Masoudiya Land Defense Committee. Separately near Ramallah, settlers attacked the Shaab al-Louz area on al-Mughayyir's western outskirts, prompting residents to confront them, while other settlers attacked Palestinian vehicles in the Marj Sia plain along the road to Abu Falah; Israeli forces deployed to the area and fired live ammunition while shielding the settlers. A third group of settlers stormed the northern outskirts of Sinjil and released livestock among residents' homes. No injuries were reported in the Mughayyir/Sinjil incidents; no arrests were made in any of the three incidents.
