Settlers Shoot Two Palestinians Near Sa'ir, Hebron; Nurse Permanently Paralyzed

Approximately 30 Israeli settlers from a nearby outpost attacked the al-Uddeissa area of Sa'ir, north of Hebron, on Friday evening, August 14, 2026, opening fire with live ammunition on Palestinian residents. Muhammad Nabil al-Mutawwar, 26, a nurse at Dura Governmental Hospital, was shot in the back; the round severed his spinal cord, leaving him permanently paralyzed. A second person, a woman, was also struck by gunfire in the back and head. The Palestinian Red Crescent treated both for live-ammunition wounds. The Palestinian Nursing and Midwifery Association called the shooting 'not a passing or individual incident, but the continuation of ongoing attacks on our Palestinian people, and on healthcare workers in particular.'
