IDF Strikes Gaza City's Firas Market and Al-Bureij Camp; Artillery Shells Khan Younis
Israeli forces conducted multiple attacks across Gaza on May 30, 2026, the fourth day of Eid al-Adha. A drone strike near the Firas Market — one of Gaza City's busiest commercial areas — killed at least one Palestinian and wounded several others. Separately, Israeli artillery shelled areas east and south of Khan Younis, and Al-Bureij refugee camp in central Gaza was also struck by Israeli artillery. Israeli forces continued demolition of homes in Beit Lahiya in northern Gaza. The attacks occurred as Israel pressed forward with 'Operation Gideon's Chariots,' with Netanyahu ordering expansion of Israeli territorial control from approximately 60% to 70% of Gaza beyond the October 2025 ceasefire Yellow Line. The post-ceasefire Palestinian death toll stands at approximately 930 killed, 2,819 wounded since October 11, 2025.
