Al Jazeera Weekly Wrap: West Bank Eid Violence Surge, Gaza Aid 80% Below Pre-War Levels
Al Jazeera published its weekly 'Palestine wrap' documenting the Eid al-Fitr period (March 20–24). B'Tselem reported that since February 28 (start of US-Israel war on Iran), at least 14 Palestinians had been killed in the West Bank — 8 by the military and 6 by armed settlers, including 2 minors. UN OCHA documented 25 Palestinians killed by settlers and soldiers in the West Bank in 2026 alone. Aid entering Gaza remained approximately 80% below pre-Iran-war levels (Haaretz, citing COGAT data); Kerem Shalom remained the only operational cargo crossing. Food inflation reached 305% in March (up from 153% in February), with orange prices rising 84% week-over-week per OCHA. Only approximately 200 aid trucks per day entering Gaza, far below the 600 needed. UNRWA Situation Report #213 documented 72,253 Palestinians killed in Gaza since October 7, 2023, and 171,912 injured. 673 Palestinians had been killed since the October 2025 ceasefire. 391 UNRWA staff killed in Gaza since the war began.
