Kerem Shalom Crossing Partially Reopened After Closure
Israeli authorities announced the partial reopening of the Kerem Shalom (Karem Abu Salem) crossing to allow 'gradual entry of humanitarian aid' into Gaza after a four-day full closure. The crossing, located at the intersection of the Gaza Strip boundary with Israel and Egypt, became the only operational entry point into Gaza. UN Secretary-General António Guterres called for all crossings to be reopened immediately, warning: 'It is imperative that all crossings be reopened as soon as possible.' All other crossings — including Rafah — remained closed. Limited truck numbers entering created bottlenecks, with OCHA warning the arrangement was 'not sustainable.'
