Israel Closes All Gaza Crossings as Iran War Begins
On February 28, Israeli authorities closed all crossings into the Gaza Strip following the start of US-Israel joint military operations against Iran, suspending entry of humanitarian aid, fuel, commercial supplies, medical evacuations, and rotation of humanitarian staff. The full closure took effect on March 1, putting approximately 710,000 daily meals — including 12,000 delivered to health facilities — at immediate risk. Fuel stocks began depleting rapidly, threatening hospital electricity supply. COGAT stated 'several necessary security adjustments have been implemented, including the closure of the crossings into the Gaza Strip, among them the Rafah Crossing, until further notice.'
