IRGC Claims It Struck US Unmanned Surface Vessel Attempting to Enter Strait of Hormuz
Iran's state broadcaster carried an IRGC statement claiming its forces attacked an American unmanned surface vessel (drone boat) off Iran's southern coast as it was about to enter the Strait of Hormuz on Sept 6 (Day 192). The IRGC statement gave no details on the extent of damage or the exact strike location. CENTCOM has not confirmed the claim; the US Navy has used unmanned surface vessels for Hormuz patrols since a 2023 pilot program. The claim followed CENTCOM's report that it permanently disabled the tankers M/T Downy and M/T Stark 1 and completely destroyed M/T Kylo a day earlier.
