US Strikes 3 Iranian Oil Tankers Near Kharg Island, Jask, and Gulf of Oman in Retaliation

| Iran Conflict

Hours after the IRGC's failed ballistic-missile attack on a US carrier and destroyer, CENTCOM struck three Iranian crude oil tankers it says were financing IRGC regional proxies: M/T Downy near Kharg Island (Iran's main oil export hub) was permanently disabled, M/T Stark 1 near Jask was permanently disabled, and M/T Kylo (also referenced as Noxen) was struck and destroyed in the Gulf of Oman — the vessel's crew evacuated before it sank. No casualties were reported. CENTCOM said the three tankers had been supporting IRGC-linked proxy financing. Iran's Foreign Ministry condemned the strikes as an escalation and vowed retaliation.
