Iran's Parliament Speaker Qalibaf Warns Era of 'Proportionate Responses' Is Over

Speaking at an open parliamentary session on Sept 6 (Day 192), Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf warned that Iran's era of proportionate responses to US/Israeli attacks was over, saying: 'Any aggression against Iran's interests and security will receive a faster, heavier and more painful response.' His remarks came a day after CENTCOM struck and destroyed/disabled three Iranian oil tankers near Kharg Island, Jask, and the Gulf of Oman. Separately, CENTCOM reported it has redirected 92 commercial vessels, disabled 3, and boarded 2 in the Strait of Hormuz under the ongoing blockade-enforcement operation. Brent crude rose 0.54% to $96.80/bbl and WTI gained 0.72% to $92.14/bbl on the news.
