Two tankers affiliated with Abu Dhabi's state-owned ADNOC were struck by drones while transiting the Strait of Hormuz on the evening of Aug 13, the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs said Aug 14, calling the strikes a 'hostile Iranian attack' and 'acts of piracy' by the IRGC that posed 'a direct threat to the stability of the region, its peoples, and the global energy supply.' UKMTO confirmed both vessels sustained minor damage; no injuries were reported and there was no immediate Iranian response. It was at least the second ADNOC vessel attack in a week.
