DHS Touts Deportation of Five Transnational Gang Members Tied to MS-13, Sinaloa Cartel, 18th Street, Latin Kings

DHS published a press release on September 2, 2026 detailing the deportation of five men with gang affiliations — two MS-13 members from El Salvador and Honduras, one Sinaloa Cartel member from Mexico, one 18th Street gang member from Guatemala, and one Latin Kings member from Uruguay — removed in a series of flights between roughly August 24 and 29, 2026. DHS said the men had convictions or charges including abduction, assault, battery, methamphetamine trafficking, firearm possession, burglary, vehicle theft, human trafficking, and illegal re-entry. Secretary Markwayne Mullin said 'the brave men and women of ICE made our country safer by deporting illegal alien gang members.'
