MSF Resumes 24/7 Operations at Cité Soleil Maternity Hospital
After the June 19 closure caused by gang clashes, MSF gradually resumed activities at the Isaïe Jeanty Maternity Hospital in Cité Soleil, working alongside Haiti's Ministry of Public Health and Population. Since July 14, 2026, the facility has been operating 24 hours a day, seven days a week. The reopening restored one of Cité Soleil's only functioning obstetric and sexual-violence care facilities, though MSF cautioned that access to healthcare in the commune remains fragile given the recurring pattern of closures tied to gang violence — the hospital has now closed and reopened multiple times since 2026 began.
